CRS/Rwanda Senior Communications Officer Job Vacancy in Kigali, Rwanda

CRS/Rwanda is looking for a qualified individual to fill the position of Senior Communications Officer. The successful candidate will apply her/his extensive expertise and experience in the communication field to improve knowledge and understanding about CRS’s work in Rwanda and to improve internal communication within CRS/Rwanda.

The Senior Communications Officer will work with CRS/Rwanda staff and partners to develop and implement a CRS Rwanda communication and marketing strategy and develop targeted communication tools for external and internal audiences. S/he will monitor and oversee development of content for the CRS/Rwanda web page on the CRS internet site. His/her work will include preparing brochures, writing success stories, and preparing material for GoR, donors, and the Rwandan press. The Senior Communications Officer will be the point person for contact with the CARO/WARO Regional Information Officer (RIO), as well as with the Communications Officer for Sub-Saharan Africa at CRS HQ. The Communications Officer is also responsible for preparing CRS/Rwanda monthly reports and developing periodic newsletters for staff and partners.

The successful candidate will at minimum have the following Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor of Arts degree in communications or journalism
• At least 3 years work experience in international development
• At least 3 years experience in media/communications and marketing
• Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Kinyarwanda. Good French highly desirable
• Team player with strong interpersonal and representational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to respect deadlines
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft office, the internet, and Publisher. Familiarity with other communications software highly desirable
• Creative and innovative
