Crossroads International
is seeking a dynamic Team Leader volunteering committed to achieving excellence
in international volunteering to take our program to the next level.
You are a l
eader who
brings a depth of experience in managing international volunteers, knowledge of
best practice in human resource management and great instincts on what it takes
to empower people – volunteers and staff. You are a strategic leader
contributing to the growth of the organization and a confident manager willing
to roll up your sleeves on the day-to-day demands of managing international
volunteers. Most of all, you are serious about channeling your talent into an
organization that is advancing the rights of women and girls and reducing
poverty in some of the poorest countries in the world.
Reporting to the
Director Program, you will work as part of multi-disciplinary management team
to ensure Crossroads’ volunteer program is responsive, innovative and at the
forefront of international volunteering.An experienced manager the field of international
development with a proven track record of success, you will be responsible for
ensuring appropriate recruitment, training and support of approximately 130
experienced volunteers annually for professional overseas mandates, ensuring
volunteer safety and security, coordinating the engagement of volunteers from
developing countries in Canada, as well as fostering the ongoing engagement
with volunteers in Canada. Leading a staff team of three, you will contribute
to organizational policy development and learning, ensuring the volunteering
programme incorporates a strong gender analysis component

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum
of 3 years’ progressive experience in a management position, including
supervision and coaching of staff
- University
degree or equivalent in a related field
- Demonstrated
leadership and management abilities
- Demonstrated
expertise in results based management, budget management, project planning
and management, grant writing and reporting
- In-depth
knowledge of and experience in international volunteering and/or relevant
experience in international development
- Strong
coaching, training and facilitation skills
- Commitment
to women’s rights and experience in integrating gender analysis to
programs
- Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced
skills in Microsoft office and online technology
- Experience
in developmental evaluation an asset
- Collaborative
working style with experience in leading cross functional team-based
initiatives
- Fluency
in both English and French is essential; knowledge of Spanish is an asset
- Familiarity
with on-line and distance education and learning an asset
