This is a full-time position (35 hours per week).
Duties: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, the
Corporate Communication Officer – Social Media, has the primary responsibility
to develop and implement the College’s social media strategy as well as create
and implement additional plans to expand the College’s profile through current
and emerging social media channels. The incumbent leads and coordinates social
media efforts across the College to ensure a positive image of the College in
online communities, locally, provincially, nationally and increasingly,
globally. The incumbent works with faculty and service areas College-wide to
drive adoption of social media best practices and technologies and develops an
editorial calendar and measurement tools. The incumbent is actively engaged in
social media training and makes recommendations for investment in social media
technology. The incumbent also provides primary social media communications in
conjunction with communications officers on crisis communications issues.
Post-secondary 3 year diploma/degree in Multi-Media, Social Media, Corporate
Communications, Public Relations or Marketing
– Minimum 5 years intensive experience in using social media platforms and managing
online communities on a variety of social media platforms using social media
and measurement tools
– An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be
considered
– Increasing responsibility within a communications or public relations role in
a fast-paced environment
– Experience researching and analyzing complex information and using verbal and
written communication skills and critical thinking skills
– Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail
transcripts are not required for the interview, they are mandatory prior to any
