Conservation International (CI) Development Manager Job Vacancy in Singapore

The
Development Manager will provide fundraising expertise and support for CI’s
country programs in the Asia-Pacific Field Division. This includes Indonesia,
Timor Leste, China, Cambodia and the Greater Mekong, the Pacific Islands, and
the Philippines. The Development Manager will work closely with Country
Directors, technical staff, the APFD regional management team, and teams in
Headquarters to identify and cultivate donors, develop proposals, and generally
solicit support for the Division, with particular emphasis on these country
programs. The position will be based in Singapore and will work with the
Development Director and HQ staff to represent the region among CI’s donors and
partners in CI headquarters. The position will report to the Development
Director, Asia-Pacific Field Division.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business
development: Cultivate and steward prospects and donors in the Asia-Pacific,
including Singapore. Develop and manage a portfolio of proposal opportunities
and funding for the Asia-Pacific Field Division. Lead the development and
submission of strategic funding proposals and reports, including co-writing and
editing. The position will be responsible for ensuring that proposals, reports
and other fundraising documents are well-written, strategic, link to divisional
and global priorities, follow CI internal review processes, and are submitted
on time. Some travel in-region will be necessary. Work with the Development
Director, Senior Operations Director and HQ staff to track unfunded needs and
fundraising pipeline. Develop relationships with selected active and
prospective donors to cultivate interest in Asia-Pacific regional programs.
Represent the APFD externally, especially in Singapore, and build partnerships
to advance regional conservation priorities. Support the Singapore office in
development of annual fundraising event.
Internal
Representation and Management: Represent the Asia-Pacific Division internally
in meetings and forums. Facilitate internal communications between other parts
of CI involved with business development, including colleagues in HQ. Provide
informal mentoring of country program teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Undergraduate degree, with experience in
    environmental sciences and/or international development
  • At least 5 years of experience in fundraising
    support and coordination, preferably in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Proven fundraiser with an excellent command of
    written and spoken English, including excellent editing/writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and
    management skills, with the ability to work both independently and as an
    effective contributing member of a dynamic global team coordinating across
    multiple time zones
  • Ability to identify strategic issues and
    priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace the strategies
    and values of Conservation International
Preferred
  • Masters degree in environmental sciences,
    international development, or similar areas of study.
  • French, Bahasa Indonesian, or other
    Asia-Pacific language abilities.
  • Experience living overseas and working in an
    international setting.
Working
Location
  • Position requires living in Singapore, with
    3-6 trips annually, within the region and to the Headquarters office in
    Washington DC.
  • Early morning and/or evening calls with key
    staff in the USA are expected.
