In just under twenty years Chicks has grown into a major provider of life-enhancing respite breaks for disadvantaged children from all over the UK at its stunning retreats in Devon and Cornwall. The charity benefits from highly prestigious support and has clear plans to extend its work into more locations throughout the UK. There’s a well-organised and effective team of staff to cover every aspect from fundraising to operations – so the central challenge in this role will be to lead and inspire that group through the planned expansion and growth. Ideal candidates will be experienced senior managers with the leadership and interpersonal skills to drive high standards of professionalism from multifunctional teams. They’ll be fully familiar with the sensitivities of working in the Third Sector and they’ll also identify strongly with the vigorous and entrepreneurial streak in the Chicks culture.
The best of them will have the networking and presentational skills needed to open and develop new sources of funding, together with the energy and flexibility that working across multiple locations inevitably requires. Above all, we’ll be looking for the vision and ambition to grow the organisation, and the role, significantly.
