Chemonics seeks a
chief of party for the anticipated USAID-funded Malawi Feed the Future Ag
Diversification for Incomes and Nutrition (ADIN) project. The anticipated
five-year project will foster inclusive and sustainable growth in Malawi’s
agricultural sector and improve the nutritional status of women and children
under five through a proven nutrition-sensitive approach layering agriculture
and nutrition behavior change interventions in rural c

ommunities. The project
will also increase competitiveness of high-value, nutrient-rich value chains
through support for agricultural enterprises and increased access to markets
and finance. The chief of party will play a critical role in providing overall
strategic project leadership, management, and technical direction, and will be
the primary liaison with major project stakeholders. We are looking for
individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people
around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve
    as the project’s principal liaison with USAID, the government of Malawi,
    and stakeholders and counterparts in the public and private sectors
  • Provide
    overall program direction, including oversight of annual work planning
  • Manage
    and supervise the project’s technical and administrative staff
  • Ensure
    quality and timeliness of all project deliverables

Qualifications:

  • Advanced
    degree preferred in agriculture, economics, nutrition, finance, or a
    related area
  • At
    least five years of progressively responsible work experience
  • Record
    of successful delivery of technical assistance
  • Strong
    managerial/supervisory experience and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience
    with USAID preferred
  • Experience
    working collaboratively with the government of Malawi, international
    donors, and local organizations
  • Ability
    to interact effectively and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including
    local governments, USAID, and international donors
  • Strong
    leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstrated
    leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency
    in English is required
