Calgary Communities
Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA) is the primary sexual violence service provider
for Calgary and surrounding areas. CCASA is seeking two full-time Sexual
Assault Worker/Educators to join our Education and Outreach Program. These
individuals will provide education to members

of the community on topics
related to sexual violence as well as provide support, crisis intervention and
advocacy to individuals who have experienced or been impacted by sexual abuse
and/or assault.

Responsibilities
of the Sexual Assault Worker/Educator include:

  • Facilitation
    of CCASA’s community and professional education programs
  • Provision
    of all aspects of the “Who Do You Tell?”™ (child sexual abuse
    education) Program, including parent information evenings, teacher
    in-services, student presentations etc
  • Public
    speaking to children, youth and adults on topics related to sexual
    violence
  • Responding
    to disclosures of abuse/assault in a professional, supportive manner,
    including assessing for risk and reporting to authorities when required
  • Providing
    crisis support, information, advocacy and referrals
  • Participating
    in creative and effective outreach and program development activities
  • Successful
    applicant may be required to work some evenings and weekends.

The
successful applicants will have the following qualifications:

  • A degree
    in social/human services and one to two years’ experience
  • Possess
    an anti-oppressive/feminist analysis of sexual violence
  • An
    understanding and comfort with issues related to sexual violence
  • Strong
    public speaking, facilitation and community development skills
  • Crisis
    intervention and assessment skills
  • Flexibility
    and adaptability to changing demands and client groups
  • Professional
    registration
