ICI Ottawa-Gatineau
is looking for a video journalist assigned to Sports. This is a permanent
part-time position (Saturdays and Sundays).


Function:

Reporting to the
Executive Producer, you gather news from the local and national sports scene.
In addition to delivering a live sports report on Le téléjournal
Ottawa-Gatineau, you provide live or pre-recorded content for the station’s
other platforms (mobile, web and radio). You may be required to work on
national programs. You must be well-organized and able to work independently.
You must also be highly creative and possess sound editorial judgment. Work is
governed by CBC/Radio-Canada journalistic and programming policies and
standards.


What you bring:

•Combination of
education and experience equivalent to a university degree plus three years’
relevant practical experience, or college diploma and five years’ relevant
practical experience
•Solid storytelling skills
•Comfortable and dynamic on-air presence
•Excellent interview skills
•Ability to write clearly and concisely
•Ability to generate original story ideas and creative treatment
•Ability to work in a high pressure, tight deadline environment, often in
unexpected overtime situations
•Flexibility to work regularly for TV, radio and the web
•Creative problem solver
•Highly creative, imaginative and a motivated self-starter
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Knowledge of the latest sporting events, as well as sports-related community
and socio-economic issues
•Good knowledge of newsroom operations and editorial practices
•Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada’s mandate and its Journalistic Standards and
Practices
•Very good knowledge of the Ottawa-Gatineau area
•Fluency in French and very good knowledge of English
•Valid driver’s licence
