Catholic Relief Services/Rwanda (CRS/RW) is a nonprofit international relief
and development organization, is implementing in partnership with Caritas
Gikongoro and the Coffee Growers´ Cooperative KOAKAKA, a five -year integrated
livelihood project targeting 3,600 of the most vulnerable coffee smallholder
families in the Karaba region of Rwanda. CRS is looking for a
well-qualified individual consultant or a professional firm and 8 enumerators
to conduct a mid-term evaluation of this five-year project.
1. Consultant individual or
professional firm
Purpose
The successful candidate or firm will be expected to undertake the following
tasks:
• Guide in reviewing the quantitative questionnaire and develop the tool for
the focus group discussions
• Attend the various pre and post evaluation consultative meetings
• Conduct focal discussion groups (FGDs)
• Design a SPSS data entry template
• Perform data processing including data cleaning , analysis and interpretation
• Develop, present and submit End Term Evaluation report

13 working days and will be performed in the field and at CRS/Rwanda Office in
Kigali.
a. Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Social sciences, Development studies or
related fields; a Master’s Degree in these mentioned fields is preferred;
b. The Independent Consultant or Company should have more than 5 years
experience in impact assessments and different surveys to measure project
achievements at the grassroots level;
c. Experience and ability to analyze qualitative data from Focus group
Discussions and Key Informant Interviews, and to produce a quality report (with
a combination of quantitative and qualitative data on the basis of project
indicators ) on the collected data;
d. Proven skills using word-processing and data analysis software such as SPSS;
e. Experience in writing reports;
f. Ability to create and effectively maintain good working relationships with
CRS/Rwanda team and the Survey team;
g. Excellent analytical and writing skills;
h. Experience in designing data sets for quantitative data entry and
ability to clean raw data with Microsoft Excel;
i. Knowledge of French and/or English preferred, knowledge of English is
mandatory
j. Humility, initiative, and honesty.
k. Three references of past clients, including name of organizations where S/he
carried out the same job, telephone numbers and e-mails.
Purpose
The successful candidates will be expected to undertake the following tasks:
• Participate actively in the training on data collection tools (iPod touch,
GPS and baseline questionnaire)
• Collect all required data according to the instructions given during training
and along the baseline.
• Participate in every day discussion during data collection
• Ensure that each questionnaire is submitted just after each interview session
a. Bachelor´s degree (A0) or diploma (A1) in Agronomy, Agri-business,
Statistics, sociology or related fields
b. Experience in Project evaluation studies, experience in data collection and
data entry;
c. Proven skills to use data analysis software such as SPSS (all versions);
d. Experience in designing of quantitative data entry and processing software;
e. Strong interpersonal relations, including ability to work as a team member,
create and effectively maintain good working relationships between Survey team
and respect to the households to interview.
f. French and/or English preferred, knowledge of Kinyarwanda is an obligation;
g. Passionate about working with grassroots communities and at the service of
vulnerable people;
h. Humility, initiative, and honesty.
