CARE Chief of Party Job Vacancy in Accra, Ghana

CARE is seeking a Chief of Party (CoP) for a Ghana Partnership for Accountable Governance in Education. The Chief of Party will set a broad vision for and provide strategic direction to PAGE. S/he will have overall responsibility for high quality program implementation, achievement of project deliverables, timely reporting, management of staff, donor and host country relationships.

The COP provides technical oversight in his/her relevant areas of expertise, and leads and/or coordinates all planning efforts for same. S/he serves as CARE’s key liaison to USAID, government counterparts, local organizations, other stakeholders and program partners. S/he ensures a high level of communication and close working relationships with USAID and national-level institutions.

Required Criteria:
• Masters degree or higher in Education;
• Minimum of 10 years direct management experience implementing successful programs to improve local school governance in a context similar to;
• Familiarity with USAID’s reporting, procurement, and project management policies and procedures;
• Proven ability to lead and manage multiple teams and ability to foster strong and effective relationships with local and international partners;
• Gender programming acumen;
• Excellent team building and interpersonal skills;
• Fluent English (spoken and written, ability to present and communicate fluently);
• The candidate must be able to work in Ghana or be able obtain a visa.
