The Farm Educator position is a unique opportunity for someone
passionate about food and environmental education to help direct an
innovative program that helps inner-city Montreal children develop
healthy habits and learn about their relationship to nature.
About our organizations:
Camp Amy Molson (C.A.M.) is a non-profit residential camp for Montreal
children, aged 5 to 13 years old, located near Grenville-sur-la-Rouge,
Quebec. Our mission is to provide children with a happy, outdoor
holiday where campers can build self-esteem, develop positive
relationships, learn valuable life skills, promote group learning and
nurture each child individually.
CAM’s Farm Education program started in 2012 and has been growing
steadily every year. The latest additions have been a pesto-making
business being run by our oldest campers, local organic farm field
trips and a mini-greenhouse. Our gardens use and teach organic farming
as an avenue for children to play, interact and recognise plants
(edible, medicinal), learn to grow vegetables, use their five senses
and discover what the natural world provides for us.
