Level & Grade: Level 3, Grade C
Salary: £28,500 – £30,000 per annum + excellent benefits

The Position
To assist the Finance Manager in providing financial leadership and support to the Operations Department in the delivery of their strategic and financial objectives with total operational expenditure budget of £18 million and capital projects of £12 million per annum.
This will involve the delivery of annual corporate planning and budgeting; managing quarterly forecasting; and monthly reporting/monitoring for Operations to ensure that targets are met and the School’s resources effectively managed. The provision for financial statement purposes of balance sheet areas relating to fixed assets, stock control and deferred capital grants.

The Department
The Accounts department provides a full financial service to the School and its subsidiary companies. This includes all transaction processing services – invoices, payroll and expenses – and all banking and treasury management services.
The department also provides a full management information service to the School and its subsidiary companies. This includes planning, budgeting, forecasting, monthly management reporting and business analysis to support decision making by senior managers.
Finally, the Department ensures that all corporate governance requirements are met including VAT, tax, legal/contractual, audit and HEFCE; and that appropriate financial and management controls are in place.
The Individual
The successful candidate will be part qualified accountant with a desire to complete accounting qualification or you will have the desire to study for an accounting qualification
Previous Management Accounting experience is essential and experience of Sun, Vision and Business Objects will be advantageous. The successful post candidate will also posses intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
You will have experience of establishing good control and reconciliation environments. You will demonstrate good relationship management experience and excellent customer service.
