Position: COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Location: Victoria
You have a flair for Public Relations, are gifted with the written word and
your goal is providing exceptional internal and external communications in
support of company-wide programs and projects. As Communications Manager,
you produce a variety of print and electronic communications to promote
employee, media, customer, stakeholder, community and investor relations.
Your
responsibilities include researching, writing, editing and distributing a
variety of communications materials varying from news releases, backgrounders,
and letters to corporate website content. You pitch a variety of stories
to the news media, produce the company’s employee newsletter, and manage all
aspects of the production of BC Ferries’ annual reports. Additionally,
you have a thorough understanding of our business and operations so as to
prepare speeches and presentations and to act as corporate spokesperson from
time to time.
You have an
undergraduate degree, certificate or diploma in journalism, public relations,
applied communications or a related discipline. You have a minimum of
five years experience working in public relations, corporate or government
communications, or a media newsroom. You have knowledge of current trends
in print, electronic communications and social media as well as experience working
with senior executives.
