Reporting to the Area Manager Maitland, you will manage the provision of
inspection, testing, maintenance and minor renewals activities to ensure the
operational availability of the signalling infrastructure and operational safe
working systems in compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
In this role you will be responsible for:
• Management of signalling maintenance services provisions in the maintenance
contracts
• Provide technical support to the Area Manager Maitland to maximise the safety
and availability of the signalling systems.
• Undertake analysis of signalling related Train Control Reports (TCRs) and
other data and provide remedial actions to address any negative signalling
performance trends.
• Management and supervision of a programme of engineering checks, tests and
inspections as nominated in the various maintenance plans.
• Investigation and reporting of major incidents with a signalling input.
• Analysis of asset condition and development of suitable Major Periodic
Maintenance (MPM) programmes and submissions.
• Liaise with Auditors and provide technical support to and assist with audit
close outs.
To be successful in this role you will:
• Have superior knowledge of signalling infrastructure and systems.
• Sound knowledge of standards for signalling infrastructure including the
railway Code of Practice.
• Knowledge of managing rail safety.
• Significant experience in signalling maintenance management.
• Experience in the administration and management of maintenance and minor
renewals projects.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong problem
solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organise self and subordinate staff.
• Drivers Licence – Class C
• ARTC Statement of Competency (Signals) or demonstrated ability to attain as
per Signals Competency Assessment .
