Based on the fringe of Melbourne’s CBD, this structural specialist has been established for circa 20 years and is run by several experienced directors with strong local market relationships, they complete a broad and diverse portfolio of projects however in recent years have focussed on low-medium rise apartment buildings, schools, houses, offices, warehouses and retail projects, as a measure of succession planning they hope to hire a Senior Structural Engineer into a Team Leader position, who will work toward an Associate position in the short term.

As the Structural Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a small project team of 3-4 to deliver the design and documentation of the above listed projects, you will develop new and existing business in order to bring in new jobs and perform recruitment and performance appraisals for your direct team, as well as:
• Comprehensive structural design and analysis
• Project budgeting and cost control
• Coordination and mentoring of project teams
• Management and further development of business relationships
• Continued liaison with various project stakeholders
• Attending site meetings and completing site investigations

As the ideal candidate for this role, you will have:
• Circa 10 years + experience as a structural engineer in a consulting environment
• A comprehensive knowledge of local building codes and standards
• Extensive experience in the design and analysis of steel, precast concrete, reinforced concrete
• Previous experience in the design of deep foundations, high rise buildings and basement retention systems
• Prior experience coordinating a team of engineers and drafters
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience liaising project stakeholders
• Existing contacts and ability to generate fees would be highly attractive

While not essential, CPEng and/or RBP accreditation would be advantageous.

In return for your services, you will receive a salary of approximately $120,000 p.a (negotiable). In addition you will receive the opportunity to further develop your management experience and progress your role within the company.
