The objectives are:
1. Sensitization of community leaders on Gender and Human Rights and support for appropriate economic programmes for extremely vulnerable families in Moroto District
2. Protect the most vulnerable and enhance incomes and food security of agro-pastoral communities in Karamoja in an environmentally responsible approach.
3. Productive infrastructure in support of farming rebuilt, while increasing enhancing farmers access to funds and production enhancing tools and technologies
To support our activities and fulfil this commitment, we are seeking to recruit Ugandan nationals for a number of positions to join our dynamic, innovative and committed staff team.
Logistics Officer (various)
National Contract, Fixed Term with possibility of extension Based in Moroto or Kotido.
The role:
• Reporting to the Regional Administrator, you will responsible for delivering and managing high quality and transparent logistics procedures to ASB Uganda in terms of fleet, procurement stock, inventory and supplier contacts.
• The logistics officer will maintaining the office compounds and housing are in good standard of management, ASB has in place, an adequate security system in its premises for staff, vehicles, equipments, etc.
• You will ensure that vehicles always in good working conditions, will keep a monthly report of the maintenance cost for each vehicle and adequate insurance coverage for all vehicles (and other assets) and ensure their timely renewal.
• You will undertake cost effective coordination mechanism for vehicle movements between program areas and districts and that the sub office has proper computer systems to support staff work.
• You will manage Stock inventory, suppliers and the office premises, follow up all procurement requests for the office and report them to Logistics Officer/Coordinator and check whether all purchases are well received, complete, undamaged and that they are stored in the proper place.
Requirement:
The Person:
• You should have a minimum university degree in procurement, logistics or equivalent substantial experience (minimum of 3 years) with an international NGO.
• Good experience of project cycle management, including assessments and monitoring & evaluation is a must, along with good writing skills in English and good speaking skills in Nka’ Karamajong. Strong communication skills both written and spoken with internal and external audiences will be essential.
• You will be adaptable and flexible, able to demonstrate cultural and gender sensitivity, well organised with capacity to achieve results, and a team player.
• You will also have the ability and willingness to work in a harsh and remote environment.
• Expedience of vehicle and motorbike mechanical work is an added advantage
