Financial Planning is a rewarding profession
where you can help your clients achieve their financial goals and build

long-lasting relationships as their trusted adviser.
Your journey
The Employed Pathway Program takes you on a fast-paced 12-month journey. Your
destination will be either employment within Australia’s largest financial
planning network or the opportunity to start your own business as an AMP
licensee.
Your journey will start with 10 weeks at the AMP Horizons Academy in Sydney.
It’s an intensive blended learning environment where you will learn the skills you
need to be a confident and competent financial Planner.
Then you’ll put your new skills to effective use back in your home state for
the remaining 9 months in the Horizons Financial Planning Practice under the
guidance of our experienced coaches.
The Essentials
To be eligible to apply for a place on our program, you must have completed (or
be well on your way to completing) RG146 tier 1 compliance in the following
competencies:
- Financial
Planning - Managed
Investments - Life
Insurance - Superannuation
- Generic
Knowledge - Skills
You will also need Australian Citizenship or
Australian Permanent Residency and a current full drivers license for your
relevant state or territory.

Skills and experience
We’re looking for people with an entrepreneurial spirit, personal motivation
and an ambition to succeed. Most importantly, it is those with a genuine
passion for helping their clients who will achieve their financial goals.
We have had successful applicants from a number of industries including the
armed forces, retail, hospitality, real estate, sports and entertainment as
well as financial services.
You should also have:
- An
interest in, and understanding of, the finance industry - A
passion for financial matters, such as budgeting - Excellent
relationship-building skills, demonstrated via previous work experience - Strong
communication skills - A
proven ability to proactively meet (and exceed) targets
What to expect:
The learning is intensive but very rewarding. You will meet many like-minded
people during the course of the program and work in a professional and
supportive environment. You’ll also be paid during your journey, receiving an
annual salary package of $56,940.80.
