Beekeeping City Manager (Toronto)
You’re extremely organized but hate the 9-5? You can clearly articulate your
thoughts and love being outside? Want to build a movement? We’re off to Toronto
and looking for a beekeeper to install and maintain hives for Alvéole in
Toronto.
Tasks:
• Manage, with the help of a second beekeeper, over 100 hives across the GTA.
(Beehive installations, rigorous maintenance, honey extraction, organic
treatments and preparation for winter)
• Accompany individuals, schools, businesses and other organisations in their
first beekeeping season
• Participate in a two week beekeeping training program outside the city
• Seasonal position (April to December 2016)
The ideal person has the following profile:
• Driver’s license
• Great understanding of the city
• Passionate about customer service
• Beekeeping knowledge a plus
• Hungry to learn about urban beekeeping practices
• Extremely resourceful, with entrepreneurial chops
• Available for a two-week training outside the city
• Available from April to December 2016
