General Job information

Job title: Security Officer

Business Group/Unit: Africa Improved Foods Rwanda Ltd

Department: Production

Position in the
organization

Reports to: SHE Manager

Direct reports: None

Indirect reports: None

Purpose of the job

The jobholder will be responsible
for physical security of the AIF Assets, including site premises as well as
Security Risk assessment, monitoring and supervision of the outsourced security
services; Guarding, Alarm Systems, CCTV.

Key Responsibilities

The jobholder will be responsible
for performing the following duties:

  • Design and implement a security plan for the whole
    compound at the site
  • Manage daily access control system to control who has
    access to what building at the site
  • Coordinate the daily work/ security activities of
    security guards at the site
  • Coordinate the reporting process and the investigation
    process in case of security issues
  • Ensure relationship and Follow up on claims with
    security companies & police
  • Assist in security of expatriates & other employees
  • Write reports of monthly activities and irregularities,
    such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized
    persons, or unusual occurrences
  • Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and
    prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas
  • Any other duties relating to security

Knowledge and educational
level

Educational level:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.
  • Diploma in Security Management and or police or military
    service will be an added advantage

Required level of
experiences

  • At least 5 years management experience in related
    Security field (police, etc…)
  • Ability to use computers and Microsoft Office
    applications (Word, Outlook and Excel) to record and produce information

Other Competences

  • Excellent understanding of site operations and other any
    AIF offices 
  • Ability to Monitor Processes,
    Materials, or Surroundings
     of
    AIF premises
  • Skilled with decisions making,
    analytical skills
  • Ability to control situations involving difficult and
    stressful incidents & controlling traffic inside AIF site  
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure the security and safety
    of a site
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimal
    supervision
  • Flexibility i.e. ability to work in different places and
    at odd hours.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
