With Actuality Media you will use
your talent as a filmmaker to research, write, shoot and edit a short
documentary video about a changemaker who will then use your media to launch
themselves on the international stage. Your compelling video can make the
difference for future donations, grants, volunteers and worldwide attention.
Watch videos from around the world made by other Actuality Crews here.

Each outreach will consist of
multiple crews, each producing a documentary on a different local changemaker.
An Actuality Media crew has four positions: Producer, Director, Cinematographer
and Editor. All crew members will have additional creative, technical and
administrative duties in addition to their primary responsibility on the
project. You will be able to indicate your desired position(s) when you complete
an application.

People interested in translating
the local language for a project or in photographing the changemaker and crew
should contact us.

Each outreach location centers
around Base Camp, our operations center. This is where a Production Manager
will conduct training, oversee research, assist with production, and manage the
overall operations. Base Camp will be the hub for lectures, meetings,
screenings, editing and other project activities. Crews will bunk in a nearby
traveler’s hotel or hostel where they will also share two meals each day.

Actuality Media provides
professional camera and sound equipment to each crew. If needed, a translator
will be provided to each crew during production. Crew members are encouraged to
use their creativity to make any additional lighting, grip, or art tools they
need out of local materials. Similarly, the possibilities for potential locations
are endless; find your shot.

An editing kit will be provided
to each crew for editing. The Project Coordinator will work with each crew to
achieve a complete post production workflow, finishing with completed sound,
music, titles and graphics. The projects will be delivered as a high
definitionvideo file to both the crew members and the subject changemaker.

All crews will gather at the
completion of the outreach to premiere their projects at a wrap party. Our
honored changemakers, as well as the greater community, will also be invited to
attend.
