PEC role focuses on three core aims:
- To
ensure the effective development and implementation of Act for Peace’s
Agency Development and Effectiveness Work Plan,
which is the agency’s primary tool for planning and implementing
activities designed to satisfy our quality, accountability and
effectiveness obligations (including AfP policies, DFAT Accreditation,
ACFID Code of Conduct, ACT Alliance policies, and various industry and
donor standards) and staff are supported to implement the plan (20% ft
hrs). - To
ensure staff in the Programs and Policy Department are enabled to
implement our Effectiveness Plan, which is designed to increase
staff members’ capacity to ensure program effectiveness through
application of relevant policy, monitoring, evaluation and learning
initiatives, and quality, compliance and accountability requirements.
There will be a strong focus in this area on monitoring and evaluation. In
addition to working with staff, the PEC may also work directly with
individual partner agencies on capacity building and or monitoring and
evaluation initiatives (70% ft hrs) - To
ensure the Programs and Policy Department maintains a relevant information
management system which enables collection,
analysis and reporting of key data for stakeholders, including staff, our
Board, partners, donors, and consortium members. The PEC will line-manager
our Performance Effectiveness Officer in this role (10% ft hrs).
Members
of the Program and Policy Department carry focal point roles for cross cutting
policies in our work. In line with this approach, we are aiming to recruit a
person to this role who will also serve as AfP’s Child Protection Focal Point.
Previous experience in the development and implementation of child safeguarding
or child protection policies within humanitarian and development settings is
highly desirable.
