United Nations Children’s Fund Nutrition Specialist Job Vacancy in Rwanda

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the
world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, is inviting
applications from suitably qualified Rwandan nationals to fill in the following
vacancies in their Rwanda Country Office at Kigali. Fluency in English and
local language of the duty station required. The last date to submit

Nutrition Specialist
Under the guidance of the Nutrition Specialist (L-4), the incumbent will be
responsible for the formulation, design, planning, implementing, monitoring and
evaluation of Nutrition programme to ensure overall mainstreaming of key
features across all related sectors of the country programme, efficiency and
effectiveness of the programme management, delivery and accomplishment of
programme goals and objectives. Specifically, strengthen the nutrition unit in
order to respond to the top government priority and defined leadership role of
UNICEF Rwanda’s entry in the SUN movement and REACH, and specific priority
action around 1000 days.

Qualification:

Advanced university degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following
areas: Public Health & Nutrition, Health Sciences, International Health
& Nutrition, Family Health & Nutrition, Nutritional Epidemiology,
Health & Nutrition Promotion and Disease Prevention, Public Health, Health
Emergency Preparedness, or other relevant discipline(s).Training in gender and
in nutrition programmes that promote gender equality an asset.

Experience:
Minimum five years of relevant professional work experience in developing and
implementing nutrition programme. Experience in monitoring gender inequalities
and in programming interventions that reduce these inequalities an asset.
Experience in training with regards to inter-disciplinary approach to nutrition
(public health nutrition, epidemiology, child growth and development, Nutrition
and HIV, etc.). Developing country work experience required.
Background/familiarity with Emergency an asset.
