Discussion of finding

This section is concerned with the
discussion of results obtained from the previous section.
Research
hypothesis I
The calculated value X2
value is 22.33 ≥ table value at 0.05 = 5.991, the researcher therefore rejected
the null hypothesis and concluded that there are causes of poor refuse
management in Orogun Community. This result is in line with Unuraye and Olojoba
(2005) that reported that lack of fund, poor workers salary which sometimes
lead to strike, inadequate equipment, lack of maintenance of equipment,
traffic congestion, lack of disposal site. Inadequate find has undoubtedly
impede the effective refuse management in ugly populated area, poor salaries or
wages which lead to strike frequent strike action by the employees of refuse or
solid waste management authority whenever they are demanding for good condition
services militate against effective refuse disposal system.

Research
Hypothesis II
The calculated value of 11.26 is ≥
table value at 0.05 = 5.991, the researcher rejected the null hypothesis and
concluded that there are effects of poor refuse management to health in Uguno Orogun
Community. This result is in line with health Impact Of Solid Waste
(2016) which started
that Organic domestic waste poses a serious threat since their fermentation
process creates favourable conditions for the survival and growth of microbial
pathogens. Direct handling of solid waste can result in various types of
infectious and chronic disease which exposes the waste workers to poor health
conditions.
Research
hypothesis III
The calculated value X2 =
69.22 is ≥ the table value at 0.05 = 5.991. Therefore, the researcher rejected
the null hypothesis and concluded that there are environmental effects of poor
refuse management in Uguno Orogun Community. This is in line with Sulu (2016) who
reported that wastes that end up in water bodies negatively change the chemical
composition of the water. Technically this is called water pollution. This will
affect all ecosystem existing in the water. It can also cause harm to animals
that drink from such polluted water.
Research
hypothesis
The calculated value X2 =
19.02 is ≥ the table value at 0.05 = 5.991, the researcher rejected the null
hypothesis and concluded that there are ways of improving poor refuse
management in Uguno Orogun Community. This is line with Sada (2006) for a
proper waste disposal method to be adopted, adequate budgetary allocation must
be made available for the acquisition of good and functional waste disposal
vans/machines for the operation and their maintenance as well as the
procurement of spare parts.
