eeking a Legal
Manager
on the Partnership Relations team. Reporting to the
Department Head of Partnerships and the Associate Director of Partnerships the
Legal Manager will manage the legal relationship between Free The Children and
our partners, in particular corporate sponsors. As a part of an emerging
technical team the Legal Manager will support the successful onboarding of new
partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  • Review,
    draft and negotiate services agreements, sales, corporate partnership and
    sponsorship contracts for both Canadian and US partners
  • Help
    establish organizational legal and risk management policies and
    guidelines.
  • Develop
    expertise in the products and services offered by various implementation
    teams in order to engage with various corporate entities in the
    preparation of legal documents.
  • Advise
    internal teams to ensure consistency in the application of business and
    legal policies.
  • Coordinate
    and facilitate communication with external legal counsel as needed
  • Support
    onboarding of internal teams and external partners through the partnership
    development process
  • Provide
    addition support to the Partnership team as needed

Skills and
Qualifications:

  • Strong
    academic credentials, including membership in good standing as a Lawyer,
    in the Law Society of Upper Canada
  • Relevant
    work experience in contract law an asset
  • Ability
    to work collaboratively, independently, strategically and with sound
    judgment.
  • Ability
    to understand changing priorities and encourage others to achieve results.
  • Strong
    work ethic and high degree of flexibility
  • Excellent
    communication skills.
