Dryden Observer is seeking a motivated and community-minded individual to join
our editorial team.

The
Dryden Observer is a weekly broadsheet newspaper that has served Dryden, a
community of 8,000 in the heart of Northwestern Ontario, for 117 years.

Qualifications

The
successful applicant should:

Be trained in journalism at a
post-secondary level or possess equivalent related experience.
Consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate excellent
writing skills and a familiarity with digital cameras;
Be a strong and creative
communicator in written, verbal and photographic forms;
Have a valid driver’s license
and own a reliable vehicle;
Be motivated to generate
story ideas and comfortable covering a wide variety of subjects;
Have excellent general
computing skills;
Be available to cover events
on evenings and weekends.
Experience with Adobe
Photoshop and QuarkExpress or InDesign and software is a definite asset.
