2Seeds Network ,Project Coordinator Jobs in Canada

Position: Project
Coordinator
Type: overseas/international volunteer opportunity
Organization:
2Seeds Network
Location: Korogwe, Tanga, Tanzania, Africa

Organization Overview

Forty-three percent of Tanzanians live in extreme poverty – on less
than $1.25 a day (according to the latest World Bank figures). This
most often means inadequate income for food and education and poor
access to quality medical care. But poverty is not just a lack of
basic necessities. It is fundamentally the absence of opportunity to
obtain them.

The 2Seeds approach to poverty eradication rests on equipping
individuals with the confidence, capacity, and opportunity to improve
their lives. This process is called “human capital development” and
empowers our Partners to assess the barriers they face and seek
innovative solutions. In this way, we position them to make continuous
progress out of poverty, even beyond the period of our direct
involvement.

2Seeds incubates community-based projects to turn income-generating
activities into thriving businesses in Tanzania. We are building a
network of independent yet interconnected projects built on deep
partnerships within and across communities.

The purpose of 2Seeds is to create opportunities for individuals and
communities to achieve their full potential. We believe developing
human capital is the key to catalyzing economic growth within
extremely poor communities, and that every community has the capacity
to be productive and healthy.

2Seeds currently operates seven projects in the Korogwe District of
Tanzania and one in Dar es Salaam. Each project is unique, and
develops out of the needs and desires of, and resources available
within, each community. Our projects utilize activities such as
poultry raising and egg production, farmers cooperatives, and
value-added food production and sales to generate income and build
business acumen.

Position Overview

2Seeds seeks 2 humble, confident, driven, and passionate leaders to
join its 6th Class of Project Coordinators (August 2015-July 2016).
Project Coordinators are one-year volunteers who are placed in pairs
to live and work alongside Tanzanian Partners to build
income-generating activities into self-sustaining businesses. Typical
activities include coordinating and conducting trainings, working with
individuals on business skills, participating in day-to-day
agricultural tasks, and establishing deep, trusting relationships with
community members.

Through this invaluable professional and personal experience, Project
Coordinators are pushed to develop skills such as project and people
management, effective communication and high-stakes decision-making,
all while learning a new language.

We seek Project Coordinators for the following type of projects:

Village-Based Continuing Projects
• Live and work in a rural village with Tanzanian Partners who are
familiar with 2Seeds and have worked with Project Coordinators in the
past.
• Work with Tanzanian Partners to convert the existing project into a
thriving business.
• Raise $8,000-$10,000 for project investments and living costs.
• Perfect for someone who enjoys building deep relationships with
his/her surrounding community and who likes the challenge of improving
the efficiency and efficacy of things already in motion.

This is an accelerated leadership experience, after which PCs continue
with their professional journeys in a variety of fields. Project
Coordinators are responsible for fundraising $8,000 for village-based
placements to cover project investment capital and all living
expenses. We are committed to recruiting exceptional Project
Coordinators and strongly support PCs in their fundraising journeys.
