5 dead, two other seriously injured in Enugu road accident

At least 5 people died and 2 were seriously injured in a fatal accident on Enugu State’s Nsukka-Obollo route.

The state’s Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Mr Ogbonnaya Kalu said the accident happened by Micho Link Filling Station on Friday, July 10, at the junction of Kpokpo.

He said two people were injured at the scene, and officials from the FRSC took them to the hospital.

He added that the incident was caused by a green Toyota Sienna overtaking in the wrong way. He said the inappropriate overtaking led to a collision head with a fertilizer-loaded truck.

All 5 Toyota Sienna occupants died. The truck driver and his wife were the two people who were wounded and taken to hospital.
