Rwanda records its first COVID-19 death

Rwanda’s health ministry announced on Sunday that the latest coronavirus had caused the first death of the East African country.

The victim was a 65-year-old driver who chose to go home from a neighboring country where he resided, the ministry said in a statement after falling seriously ill.

While undergoing treatment at a specialist COVID-19 care center, he passed away from serious respiratory complications.
