Video of an angry Nigerian destroying properties at Nigerian Embassy in London

At the Nigerian Embassy in London, a Nigerian, recognized as Jeffery Ewohime, damaged properties, mostly vehicles.

The incident’s amateur footage has been shared on social media.

Full details of what led to the incident are still sketchy, but what all we heard about it was told by an official.

Nigerians In the Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa condemned the behaviour of the 32-year-old Nigerian.

Mrs Dabiri-Erewa said that such an approach was unpatriotic and an act of indiscipline in a declaration by her press assistant, Abdur-Rahman Balogun.

The NIDCOM boss said she received a report on Monday that Mr Ewohime went to London’s Nigeria Embassy

”He had approached the embassy to collect his passport which expired since November 2017 at about 2 p.m. and was told collection of passports would close at 1 p.m.

“He then insisted on collecting his passport and was told to take his collection slip that he could not produce,” she said.

It would, of course, be incorrect to hand over his passport to him without his collection slip, according to reports from the Embassy.

She said Emohime later left, agitated, and returned from a neighboring hotel to destroy about seven vehicles, five belonging to the mission, and two tourists who parked nearby.

“His effort to destroy the vehicle of the High Commissioner failed because it is bulletproof.

“I’m told he’d been detained by police.

“He destroyed seven brand new vehicles, except the bulletproof Ambassador’s vehicle.“

“This is a despicable act that everyone must condemn. The law must take its course, of course,” she said.

Mrs Dabiri-Erewa implored Nigerians overseas to be restrained and in all circumstances and be good ambassadors of Nigeria at all times.
