The appointment of Mohammed Abdulazeez has been approved by the Governing Council of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi as the new vice-chancellor of the university.
The appointment of Mohammed Abdulazeez as the new vice-chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi was made known of Saturday, 6th April, 2019 in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Council and Registrar of the University, Ahmed Hassan, in Bauchi. The information released in the statement revealed that the appointment of the new vice-chancellor was confirmed by the council during its 26th special meeting based on the recommendation of the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board of the university.
According to the information revealed by the Governing Council of the institution, Mohammed Abdulazeez was selected after he defeated other contestants to the position.
The stated released revealed that the new vice-chancellor will head the institution for a period of five year beginning from 26th April, 2019 in accordance with Universities Miscellaneous Provisions Amendment Act, 2003.
Mohammed Abdulazeez who is a professor of physics was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the university before he was appointed the vice-chancellor.
