Seattle deadly rush hour gunman to appear in court on Friday

A gunman accused of alleged shooting into rush hour traffic and killing two people and injuring two others in Seattle will be charged formally on Friday. At the point of this report, the police had not been able to ascertain the motive behind the attack.

The gunman aged, 33 who has been recognized as Tad Michael Norman, is being held without bond at the King County jail under investigation for charges of homicide, robbery and assault.

According to Seattle deputy police chief, Marc Garth Green in a press briefing on Wednesday 27th March, 2019 referred to the shootings as “a random and senseless act.”

Tad Michael Norman is expected to appear in court on Friday morning, but it was not immediately clear at the point of this report if he had an attorney to represent him.

Some reports indicated that Tad Michael Norman looks intoxicated when he walked into traffic in the northeastern neighborhood of Sand Point at about 4 p.m. on Wednesday and began shooting.

According to police reports, Tad Michael Norman was alleged to have approached a motorist at an intersection and shot her before walking into the street and firing on a bus. Upon approaching the bus, Tad Michael Norman was alleged to have shot through the bus’s windshield, wounding the driver who was later identified as Eric Stark aged 53.

It was reported that Eric Stack then quickly turned the bus around and drove away to protect his 12 passengers. Eric Stark who was wounded in the torso was hailed by the Seattle’s mayor, police chief and others for his quick response in saving the lives of the passengers in the bus.

After the bus escaped the attacker, it was reported that Tad Michael Norman approached another motorist in a red Toyota Prius and opened fire, killing the driver who was later identified as Robert Hassan, a physician and retired colonel in the Air Force aged 76.

In was also reported that in Rober Hassan’s car, Tad Michael Norman allegedly led the Seattle police on a short chase before he collided with another car, killing its driver, recognized as Richard Lee aged 75-year-old.

Tad Michael Norman was arrested and taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries before going to jail.

The first motorist shot, was identified as Ashley Judd, a second-grade school teacher aged 56, is recovering in hospital along with Eric Stark.

Ashley Judd was been reported to be responding to treatment and had appeared on television on Thursday, 28th March, 2019 to deliver a reassuring message to her students on besides her hospital bedside by saying, “I’ll be back, I love them.”

She therefore described her experience with the gunman by saying, “He walked straight in the middle of the road and just pointed a gun at me and just shot at me.”
