Donald Trump firing me could mean obstruction of Justice – James Comey

James Comey, the Former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director in an interview on Wednesday, 27th March, 2019 has stated that President Donald Trump firing him may have in one way or the other obstructed justice in investigation to ascertain Russian involvement in the election that brought the president into power in 2016.

He made this assertion in carefully selecting his words by James Comey stated;

“I thought that’s potentially obstruction of justice and I hope somebody is going to look at that,” he said.

“Again the president appears to be saying, I don’t know what’s in his head — which is why I can’t reach the conclusion, what he appears to be saying is, I got rid of this guy to shut down an investigation that threatened me.”

When James Comey was fired, the government spoke to that effect that firing James Comey was at the request of the Department of Justice in relation to his role in handling the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails. But in just a matter of days in another interview, President Donald Trump misfired by giving a contradicting response when asked. According to President Donald Trump, James Comes was fired by the FBI in part, because of the “Russia thing.”

After the conclusion of the Mueller’s investigation into Russian’s meddling into the U.S. 2016 presidential election, the report stated that it could not make a determination on whether or not Trump obstructed justice; a report which James Comey says that he doesn’t understand the meaning of when the Mueller’s report stated. According to James Comey, it the job of the special counsel to make a determination, rather than passing it to the attorney general, which is what happened in this case.

James Comey stated that the Mueller report as vindication for the FBI that it is an independent department seeking to uncover the truth by saying, “It establishes to all people I hope, no matter where they are in the spectrum, that the FBI is not corrupt, not a nest of vipers and spies, but an honest group of people trying to find out what is true.”

James Comey stated that he was very worried that since the investigation came up with no new indictments beyond the 34 people that have already been indicted that it shouldn’t have taken place to begin with. James Comey said that the investigation was necessary and to fail to do it would have been irresponsible. He added that he thought it was good news that it doesn’t appear any Americans participated in the attempt to subvert American democracy with Russia.
