The People Democratic Party (PDP) during the just concluded election in Kaduna State has grabbed two additional seats in the state’s House of Assembly. The two additional seat grabbed by the opposition party (PDP) from the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC) increased their number from seven (7) during to 2015 election to nine (9) at the end of the 2019 elections.
The constituencies represented by PDP members in Kaduna State’s House of Assembly are Chikun, Kachia, Zangon Kataf, Zonkwa, Kaura, Jema’a, Jaba, Sanga and Kajuru constituencies,
While constituencies represented by the ruling APC are Unguwan Sunusi, Kubau, Doka/Gabasawa, Kudan, Lere West, Lere East, Giwa West, Giwa East, Sabon Gari, Basawa, Zaria Kewaye, Zaria City, Makarfi, Soba, Maigana, Ikara, Kakangi, Magajin Gari, Igabi East, Igabi west, Kauru, Makera and Tudun Wada constituencies.
At the end of the just concluded state House of Assembly elections seventeen (17) of the assembly members have retained their seats while sixteen (16) lost their seats to new members. At the end of the State House of Assembly election, the APC still retains its hold on the house was downgraded from twenty-seven (27) members to twenty-four (24) members pending the by-election for Kagarko constituency which is scheduled for March 23, 2019.
The sixteen (16) new incoming members to the Kaduna State House of Assembly are Faisal Abbas (Kudan), Kantiok Bako (Zonkwa), Rilwanu Gadagau (Giwa West), Yusuf Ibrahim Labo (Giwa East), Tanimu Musa (Kachia), Ali Kalat (Jema’a), Shehu Inusa (Kubau), Monday Dikko (Jaba), Mrs Comfort Amwe (Sanga), Ishaku Chawaza (Chikun), Salisu Bala (Igabi East), Yusuf Mugu (Kaura); Suleiman Dabo (Zaria City), Aminu Ahmed (Makarfi) and Bala Tagagi (Kakangi).
