New reforms ahead of Batch A NYSC mobilisation process

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Suleiman Kazaure, had on  Thursday 14th March, 2019  stated that the NYSC scheme would review and reform its mobilisation process for improvement of the exercise before the mobilization process of the 2019 Batch A Corp members. This statement was made by the NYSC boss at the Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State during the 2019 Batch A Pre-Mobilisation Workshop held in the local government.

During the one-day workshop which was tagged, “Towards Eliminating Recurrent Issues Affecting The NYSC Mobilisation Process”, the NYSC boss explained that the major purpose of the workshop was to provide a platform for the NYSC, prospective corps members, other stakeholders and the general public to bear their minds and review issues pertaining to the mobilisation process with a view to addressing the challenges facing the process and evolving strategies for improvement of the process in general.

He stated that the NYSC has over the years tried to sustain cross-fertilisation of ideas in order to achieve a full proof mobilisation thereby enhancing the credibility of the process. He added that the theme of the workshop captures the thrust of the deliberations at the workshop and thereby encourage all in attendance to contribute their knowledge, experience and expertise to enable the management of the NYSC to remove all challenges which they had encountered in the past during the mobilisation process and to ensure that the  2019 Batch A mobilisation goes hitch-free.

According to Suleiman Kazaure, the essence of the workshop is to proffer solutions to problems encountered in the past, present and future mobilisations which said he is hopeful that at the end of the brainstorming process there will be a remarkable improvement in the 2019 Batch A mobilisation process.

Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State, who was represented by his Deputy, Silas Agara, in a statement commended the management of the NYSC to considering the need to organise the workshop in the state in order to finding a lasting solution to the numerous problems hindering smooth mobilisation of Corps members. He was particularly grateful to the management of the NYSC for choosing Nasarawa State  as the host of the workshop and expressed the readiness of the state to contribute its quota in ensuring the success of the NYSC whenever they are called upon.
