At least two (2) persons has been confirmed dead and four (4) others sustained various degrees of burns injuries after a tanker conveying petrol exploded at the Ojo area of the Lagos-Badagry expressway on Wednesday 30th January, 2019. The injured have been a nearby hospital and are currently undergoing treatment.
The petrol-conveying tanker explosion which happened at about 4 a.m. on Wednesday morning was said to have fell on its side before bursting into flames. Aside from the deaths and injuries recorded by the explosion, several vehicles were burnt
The tanker explosion further worsen the already bad traffic situation at the Lagos-Badagry expressway leading to untold hardship of commuters as they struggle to pass through the carnage to their various places of work on Wednesday morning.
A lot of the passengers in order to get to their various places of work had to rely on motorcycles (popularly called Okada) which took advantage of the carnage to charge exorbitant fares.
