APC fights dirty as they plot to unseat Tambuwal

The All Progressive Congress(APC) has decided to engage in what looks like a dirty fight in a bit to unseat the Sokoto State governor, Governor Waziri Tambuwal who was elected governor under the APC after his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The APC has gone to the Supreme Court in an attempt to unseat Governor Waziri Tambuwal stating that 2014primary election under the APC that brought him into power was marred by irregularities.

This sudden turn of event by the APC is collaboration with Aliyu Abubakar Sanyinma and Senator Umar Dahiru who were both contestants against Governor Waziri Tambuwal during the 2014 primary elections for the governorship seat in Sokoto State.

In this new development, the APC has replaced Jubrin Okutepa (SAN) who had been representing the party with Abduganiyu Arobo to prosecute the case brought against Governor Waziri Tambuwal at the Supreme Court.

In acknowledging the change of counsel by the APC, Jubrin Okutepu (SAN) however did not agree to change the argument of the party concerning the case as it was propagated at the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal representing the party on behalf of Governor Waziri Tambuwal who had dumped the APC for the PDP.

Roland Otaru who is the counsel to the other aspirants in the 2014 APC Governorship Primary Election which saw the emergence of Governor Waziri Tambuwal had argued that delegates who voted Governor Waziri Tambuwal to power were not authentic delegates so the election should be voided by the Supreme Court.

Justice Mohammed Dattijo who is the presiding judge had fixed 25th January, 2019 for the preliminary objection  by Governor Waziri Tambuwal on the suit filed against him and 5th March, 2019 to hear the appeal proper.
