Nigeria Army gets more helicopter gunships to tackle Boko Haram

The Nigerian government is intensifying the fight against the Boko Haram Terrorist Group. The Chief of Air Staff, Marshal Sadique Abubakar, made this statement in the occasion of the commissioning of the multi-billion Naira Modular Theatre at the hospital in the 465 Nigeria Air Force in Kano.

According to Marshal Sadique Abubakar, the federal government has ordered additional six (6) brand new helicopter gunships from the Italian government and is also awaiting the delivery of twelve (12)military aircrafts from the United States of America.

The stated that upon the delivery of these aircrafts, the Nigerian military will be better positioned in the fight of the Boko Haram Terrorist Group and this will provide the Nigeria Army with a much more superior fire power in the fight against the insurgency.

Marshal Sadique Abubakar commended the support of the Italian and the United States government in terms of provision of aircrafts for the fight against the Boko Haram Terrorist Group. He stated that eighteen (18) brand new aircrafts has been purchased by the federal government for the Nigeria Air Force in less than four years and they are expecting additional twelve (12) from the United States and six (6) from Italy.

The Air Force boss advised the officers and men of the Air Force to ensure that the Modular Theatre and all the other facilities in the 465 Nigeria Air Force hospital are put into good use and also ensure that the community around them benefit from the services rendered at the facility.

He also promised that the federal government had will provide more facilities to the hospital but implore them to ensure adequate maintenance of the facility.

The Nigeria Air Force Medical Service, Air Commodore M. E. Shu’aibu assured the Chief of Air Staff that the Modular Theatre and all the other facilities in the hospital will be put to best of use especially in the treatment of injured personnel of the Nigeria Army at the fight against the Boko Haram Terrorist Group.
