Speaking
of their reasons for their actions, Amuka, one of APC defectors stated that
their action was necessitated by the action of the National Chairman of the
party, Adam Oshiomole’s action in conjunction of other group of politicians to
hijack APC in the state.
In
his own narrative, Osuji, the Majority Leader of the house accused Adams
Oshiomole of meting out great injustice to the members of the APC in the just
concluded primary elections in Imo state. Osuji added their decision to leave
the party has nothing to do with their support for President Muhammed Buhari’s
re-election by stating that although they are committed to supporting Uche
Nwosu who the Action Alliance (AA) governorship candidate to see that he emerge
winner in the 2019 general election, they are still in full support of the
re-election of President Muhammed Buhari.
In
speaking for the defectors from the PDP, Agbim stated that they left the PDP
because the part lacks leader direction, so they are joining the Action
Alliance to see Uche Nwosu to the governorship seat and the re-election of
President Muhammed Buhari.
