Asia Pacific Leadership Program Fellowship

East-West
Center is inviting applications for Asia Pacific Leadership Program Fellowship.
The eight (8) week program involves a combination of personal strategic
planning activities, leadership development workshops, and reflective space to
independently develop strategic plans or projects within the context of the
East-West Center community.
The
leadership development program is designed to provide opportunities for
advanced professionals to reflect on personal and organizational achievement
while developing plans for the future.

The
East–West Center (EWC), or the Center for Cultural and Technical Interchange
Between East and West, is an education and research organization established by
the U.S. Congress in 1960 to strengthen relations and understanding among the
peoples and nations of Asia, the Pacific, and the United States. It is
headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Likewise,
the TOEFL and IELTS are not required in order to apply for this program. 
English language proficiency will be determined by the Selection Committee
during the interview stage.

This is eight-week Advanced Leadership Program (ALP).

Fellowship is designed to provide opportunities for advanced professionals to
reflect on personal and organizational achievement while developing plans for
the future.
Scholarship
Award:

Fees to cover tuition, on-campus accommodation and administrative expenses
for the eight-week program are $3,500 USD.  Personal living and travel
expenses vary according to the candidate’s lifestyle.  We suggest that
selected candidates budget at least $600 USD per month, or $1,200 USD for eight
weeks, for food and other personal expenses.

Eligibility:
  • Bachelor’s
    degree – applicants must have at least a 3-year bachelor’s degree or its
    equivalent from an accredited U.S. College or University or from a
    recognized institution of higher learning abroad. Equivalency is
    determined by the University of Hawai’i.
  • At
    least 5 years of work experience
  • A
    demonstrated commitment to promoting peace and prosperity in the Asia
    Pacific region, and a deep interest in experiential leadership development
    training.
Nationality: The US and
international students can apply for Asia Pacific Leadership Program
Fellowship.
College
Admission Requirement

Asia Pacific Leadership Program will be switching to an online application system
for the 2018-2019 competition year.  In the application, there are fields
in which the following pieces need to be uploaded or input directly in order to
complete your application.

Official
Transcripts and an official degree certificate for the highest
degree you have obtained are required in order to complete your application to
the APLP.  These documents must be sealed and remain sealed in an
envelope by the institution you attended and mailed to the EWC Leadership
Program Office.  Documents mailed or hand-carried by the applicant or a
third party will not be accepted as official or used for admissions
consideration unless they are contained in an envelope that has been sealed by
the university.
