Position
Title
:
Engineering Technician
Department: Hardware Engineering
Location: HQ – OGERW
Reports to:Country Director with a “dotted line” to the Field
Engineering Manager
Overall
Job purpose:
The
engineering technician (tech) will perform specialized technical job functions
specific to achieving engineering department goals. These job functions will
require a knowledge of regular hands on technician skills as well as specialized
engineering techniques, tools, and concepts not used by regional technicians.
Key
Responsibilities:
●       
Characterization testing for existing and new ZOLA products in the field and
lab
●       
Assisting technical process development in the workshop or field
●       
Specialized troubleshooting and detailed data entry on existing ZOLA products
●       
Creating detailed reports on field and lab test results
●       
Documentation and reporting of learnings in a clear and systematic way. Open
and regular communication up and down the organizational ladder
●       
Provide crisp, insightful feedback and recommendations on a regular basis
●       
Ability to develop training materials and effectively communicate complex ideas
and procedures to a wide audience
●       
Ability to distill key technical details into a simple and easy to understand
format
Qualifications:
 Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience: –
●       
Bachelors of electronics and electrical engineering OR diploma of electronics
and electrical engineering and highly relevant experience
●       
Professional qualifications in electronics is an additional advantage.
●       
Previous experience in electronics or engineering is an additional advantage.
●       
Using personal and team­ based task management tools
●       
Build the bridge: ability to build, embrace and repair relationship with our
customers, agents, staff and other key stakeholders.
●       
Effective communication: ability to connect with the rest of the organization
proactively& effectively using different communication platforms.
●       
Self manage: well disciplined, confident, organized, motivated and time
conscious.
●       
Work independently: ability to multi-task and set priorities for self and
others.
●       
Fluent in both English and Kinyarwanda (Kiswahili is also preferred).
