Noc
Engineer
  1. Job
    purpose
The
Function purpose is to provide
  • The
    first level technical and administrative support to Live Networks of
    Liquid Telecoms Rwanda;
  • The
    underlying local & international infrastructure and its supported technologies
  • Insurance
    of optimal availability of clients services up to 99.9%.
  • The
    main objective is to expeditiously identify, handle and resolve all
    Network outages and anomalies within the SLA.s.
  1. Key
    duties and responsibilities: the key responsibilities consist mainly of:
  • Network
    Monitoring proactively
  • Fault
    Troubleshooting and Management
  • Escalations
    Management
  • Network
    Grooming
  • Reporting
  • Training
  1. Education
    and Qualifications
  • Degree
    in Electrical or Telecommunications engineering or its equivalent.
  • Advanced
    Knowledge in  analogue and Digital systems ( Switching and
    Transmission
  • Equipment
    training on any Digital Switching System or/ and Digital Transmission
    systems.
  • Knowledge
    in Signalling Protocols.
  • Understanding
    of IP networks and technology.
  • Computer
    skills and ability to operate the Microsoft office applications.
  • Basic
    understanding of the telecommunications environment. Appreciation of,
    CDMA, SDH, DWDM & MPLS, Voice and Data technologies.
  • Enthusiasm
    and ability to demonstrate quick-thinking.
  • Strong
    interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability
    to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Willingness
    to work with minimum supervision, innovative and creative individual.
  • Available
    to perform either day-time or night duties when required.
  • Daily
    interaction with fellow NOC engineers, Senior NOC engineers, Team Leader,
    Liquid Telecoms NOCs,  2nd Line Engineers,  CC services, Field
    Operations Engineers, Planning & Implementation Engineers and Project
    Managers
  • Interaction
    with Account Managers, Legal and Site Acquisition Officer on issues
    requiring their attention.
  • Interaction
    with the Stores in requesting for Spares and recovered switches for
    re-deployment.
  • Escalations
    to Team Leader, Senior NOC engineers and 2nd Line Engineers as required.
  • Excellent
    fault resolution coordination with Field Operations & Support teams
    (Fiber Maintenance, Systems Maintenance and Contractors) related
    notifications every 30 min.
  • Up-to-date
    and reliable representation of Network on NMS all the time.
  1. Experience
At
least 2 years’ experience working in similar environment.
