Purpose
of the position:
Coordinating
activities related to a one week Africa Clubfoot Training (ACT) project Ponseti
provider and instructor training courses which will take place in October 2016,
in Kigali, Rwanda
Background:
Cure
International /Rwanda Clubfoot Program is involved  in a new two-year
project, the Africa Clubfoot Training (ACT) project, which is aimed at
improving clubfoot training and services in the region. The ACT project
partners will produce new provider and instructor training resources in Ponseti
treatment of clubfoot, and pilot the new materials during five one-week
training weeks. One of these pilot courses will be held in Kigali, and will be
attended by international visiting faculty and health workers from around
Africa.
Key
Duties:
Under
the authority and supervision of Cure International /Rwanda Clubfoot Program
management,the ACT Administrator assistant  will assist the program in the
following activities:
  1. Coordinating
    approximately for four months a  one-week ACT project Ponseti
    provider and instructor training courses in Kigali. This will include:
    1. Arranging
      logistics and organization of venue, equipment, catering, and attendance
      of local trainees, in liaison with the Rwanda Clubfoot  Program
      Manager
    2. Arranging
      accommodation, visas and international and local travel for visiting
      faculty (mostly UK) and trainees (from around the region), in liaison
      with the CURE Clubfoot Africa Director (Linda Hansen) and UK ACT project
      manager (Grace Le)
  2. Backfilling
    selected duties and workload of the Rwanda Clubfoot Program Manager and
    Clinical Supervisor when they are required to carry out duties related to
    the ACT programme.
  3. Collecting
    and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data related to monitoring and
    evaluation of the ACT project in Rwanda, reporting to the CURE Clubfoot
    Africa Director. This may also include contributing towards some
    monitoring and evaluation of training related to other CURE Clubfoot
    programs in Africa.
  4. Translation 
    / preparation of documents related to ACT project
  5. Other
    duties as assigned
Essential
Skills/Qualities
  1. Strong
    self-motivation, flexibility and reliability, with the demonstrated
    ability to work effectively independently and as part of a small team
  2. Good
    interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills (both written and
    verbal)
  3. Demonstrated
    computer based skills, including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and e-mail
  4. Proficiency
    in the English and French  languages, spoken and written
  5. Excellent
    organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills
  6. Ability
    to work outside of normal office hours when necessary
  7. Minimum
    2 years’ experience in coordination of projects or programs
  8. University
    degree ( A1) or ( A0 ) in physiotherapy or orthopedic officer  is
    required ,  associated with a degree in Demography .
  9. Relevant
    qualifications to project / program management
  10. To
    be Rwandan citizen
  11. Demonstrated
    commitment and willingness to work in accordance with the mission and
    statement of faith of CURE International.
  12. Experience
    working in multidisciplinary teams

Reporting
Relationships:
This
position reports to the Program Manager, Cure International
/RwandaClubfootProgram. It will maintain a working relationship with the ACT
Project Manager and the CURE Clubfoot Africa Regional Manager.
