Overview:
Founded in 2002, by President William J.
Clinton, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health
organization committed to strengthening integrated health systems around the
world and expanding access to care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, Malaria and
other illnesses.
Based on the premise that a business-oriented
strategy can facilitate solutions to global health challenges, CHAI acts as a
catalyst to mobilize new resources and optimize their impact to save lives, via
improved organization of commodity markets and more effective local management.
By working in association with governments and other partners, CHAI is focused
on large-scale impact interventions. To date, CHAI has secured lower pricing
agreements for treatment options in more than 70 countries. In addition, CHAI’s
teams are working side-by-side with over 30 governments to tackle many of the
largest barriers to effective treatment and care.
CHAI is looking for a ProgramAnalyst to
support the Nutrition Program activities.
Summary of the position:
The analyst will be supporting various
analytical components of the Nutrition programwith a main focus on our
Agriculture work.
CHAI is therefore looking for a highly
motivated individual with outstanding analytical and time management skills.
The candidate must have a deep personal commitment to producing the highest
quality results and must exhibit personal qualities such as responsibility,
tenacity, energy, as well as a high level of professionalism and work ethic.
The incumbent has to possess relevant
experience in economics, statistics or any other related field. She or he must
be able to manage multiple tasks and drive multiple projects forward, exhibit a
passion for results and commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
Specifically,
key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Undertake
    analysis and modeling in partnership with the management of the program to
    better inform activities, strategies and ensure efficiency and
    effectiveness of interventions
  • Prepare
    presentations and reports based on analysis done
  • Perform
    researches, desk reviews and crop prices monitoring
  • Develop
    quality costing models that will be used for decision making
  • Present
    analytical findings to internal and external audiences
  • Manage
    the development and maintenance of program databases, quantitative models
    and forecasts
  • Provide
    support and guidance to key partners and stakeholders
  • Drive
    an individual workplan to completion and meet milestones with little daily
    supervision
  • Participate
    in relevant workshops and meetings with stakeholders
  • Perform
    other task as requested by the management team
Qualifications
  • Bachelor
    degree inStatistics, Economics, Financeor other relevant field; An
    advanced degree will be a strong advantage
  • Minimum
    of 3years of working experience in the private or public sector, with
    increasing levels of responsibility and leadership
  • Experience
    and knowledge in the agriculture sector is preferred
  • Excellent
    organizational, planning and problem solving skills
  • Strong
    communication skills, including the ability to synthesize information
    concisely, and prepare short reports and presentations
  • High
    level of proficiency in relevant computer applications, particularly MS
    Excel
  • Demonstrated
    leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability
    to multi-task and deliver on multiple work streams in high-pressure
    situations with minimal supervision
  • Fluency
    in English
