International
Resources Group (IRG), an Engility company, seeks a Financial Service
Strengthening Specialist for the anticipated Feed the Future Rwanda Sustainable
Food, Agriculture, and Nutrition (SFAN) Activity that will increase smallholder
farmer incomes, improve household nutritional status, and increase the
resilience of the agriculture system to the changing clima

te. The Financial
Service Strengthening Specialist will be responsible for project activities
associated with increasing access to financial services for agriculture,
addressing both supply and demand-side factors. This includes, but is not limited
to, strengthening financial sector capacity, increasing demand for financial
services linked to the agricultural sector, and increasing the availability of
financial services to women, men, and youth smallholder farmers, as well as
entrepreneurs, agro-dealers, processors, and business advisory services.

This
position is contingent upon award and client funding.
Minimum
Tangible Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s
    degree in economics, finance, business administration, or related field
    required; Master’s degree in relevant field highly preferred
  • Minimum
    5 yearsof progressively responsible international work experience in the
    area of agricultural access to finance
  • Progressive
    experience with development of financial services packages and products
    appropriate for a range of organizations, from farmer organizations to
    medium size processors or input suppliers, targeting agricultural markets
  • Experience
    with gender mainstreaming in agriculture development programs;
  • Excellent
    written and verbal communication skills
  • Past
    experience with USAID funded projects preferred
