- The
Managing Director (MD) will ensure that the Company operates profitably
and in an ethical manner in order to fulfill the objectives of is
shareholders, customers and staff. The role is a mix of people management,
financial management and international customer management that will require
a seasoned leader with deep knowledge of the Rwandan business environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee
the day-to-day management of ADC - Monitor
and control ADC’s performance and finances in accordance with budgets to
be created by the Managing Director and approved by the Board of Directors
- Own the
process to identify, market to, negotiate with and finalize relationship
with additional clients, to include the development of new processes
required to support the unique requirements of a new partner - See that
the Board of Directors (and the cooperative that they represent) is kept
fully informed on the condition of the company and all important factors
relating to its operation, growing both their knowledge of the business
and their capacity to oversee such a business - Establish
sound working relationships with community groups, stakeholders and
institutions that will be required given the company’s presence as a
sizable employer in the area - Be
responsible for the recruitment, employment and release of all management
personnel - Support
the management team and staff to ensure that all employees are adequately
trained to perform their responsibilities and operational tasks, including
conducting involved performance management activities - Manage
the team responsible for overseeing production, assisting them to complete
their tasks of ensuring that items produced for clients to ensure high
quality in accordance with client’s quality requirements and standards,
and that the products are being produced in a cost efficient and
predictable manner - Maintain
official records and documents and ensure compliance with National and
District regulations as well as with buyers’ standards for partnership
with their international vendors - Oversee
all matters related to contracts, and ensuring that the company meets all
legal requirements
Qualifications:
- Fluency in English is required and
preferred in Kinyarwanda· - Exceptional leadership and interpersonal
skills· - Demonstrated managerial experience in a
business context· - Excellent computer skills with working
understanding of Microsoft Office· - Demonstrated competence in financial
management· - Clear capacity to market and sell
services·
