is a manufacturer of highly nutritious
quality fortified foods. Our nutrition products are intended to address
malnutrition among vulnerable population segments such as pregnant and
breast-feeding mothers, older infants and young children especially in the
first 1,000 days of their life. To this end, we plan to avail on a commercial
scale nutritional products for lifestyle consumer groups in Rwanda and the
whole East African Region.

Purpose
of the job
The
Production Manager will be required to develop, coordinate, implement and
implement the manufacturing plan and within the AIF requirements and
guidelines, and develop, structure and manage the manufacturing organization,
in order to ensure the realization of the objectives SHE, quantity, quality,
costs and organization).
Key
responsibilities
  • Development
    and the implementation of the manufacturing plan, in cooperation with the
    management team members.
  • Manage
    the execution of the manufacturing plan and ensure that the installations
    are managed and operated in a technically sound, safe and environmentally
    acceptable manner, by complying with all relevant external and AIF
    requirements and practices. Ensure the production and delivery of products
    in line with agreed planning and specifications (quantities and
    qualities).
  • Lead
    the manufacturing organization, shape it to fit best with the business
    needs, connect it to all departments, develop people and deliver the
    results
  • Monitor
    the execution of the manufacturing plan and take corrective actions, in
    order to achieve the results.
  • Define
    and implement performance indicators and ensure periodical reporting of
    actual performance against predefines targets.
  • Stimulate
    continuous improvement in the production organization and define and
    execute operational improvement programs.
Other

Quality,
Environment, Safety and Health
  • Implement
    QESH and Security structures and systems, together with the quality
    department, in order to meet legal obligations, guarantee the quality of
    processes and products, and ensure the license to operate and a safe and
    healthy working place for employees.
  • Take
    account of all relevant QESH and Security requirements (e.g. FS22000).
Organizational
Structure and Development
  • Develop,
    implement and manage a cost effective and efficient production
    organization, standard working processes and systems, in order to enable
    optimal production performance.
Human
Resources
  • Implement
    HR structures and systems, together with the HR department, in order to
    guarantee a workforce that meets current and future requirements in terms
    of quality and quantity, and manage and coach a team of production
    professionals.
  • Define
    the need for technical competences based on the manufacturing strategy and
    ensure the availability of these in the production organization.
Finance
and Administration
  • Formulate,
    get approval and manage the yearly cost budget for the manufacturing
    organization.
Knowledge
and educational level
Educational
level:
  • University
    degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, food sciences,
    physics and or other beta sciences.
Professional
Experience
  • At
    least 10 years’ experience as site/plant/production manager in an
    international company.
  • Proven
    experience with food, extrusion and milling
  • Excellent
    people manager, experience in working in multi-functional teams,
  • Well
    balanced and mature person, natural leader
