BASIC

research, analysis and detailed socio-economic reporting. Maintains effective
middle and high-level contacts within the public and private sectors,
regulatory agencies, academic institutions, and social enterprises. Assists
with U.S. commercial outreach and provides Foreign Commercial Service services,
including organizing Gold Key and International Buyer Program services to
American and Rwandan companies. Works closely with the Ambassador’s Special
Self Help Fund (SSH) Coordinator to generate, vet, and select annual economic
empowerment grants for funding.

- EDUCATION:
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, International
Relations, Political-Economy or related field is required. - EXPERIENCE:
at least 3 years of work experience, preferably in international business,
consulting, government or economic research is required. - LANGUAGE:
Level 4 (fluent) speaking/reading/writing of English is required; Level 4
(fluent) speaking/reading/writing of Kinyarwanda is also required. (This
will be tested.) - JOB
KNOWLEDGE: A thorough knowledge of modern economic principles and theory
is required. Significant understanding of Rwanda’s economy, economic
institutions, foreign and domestic economic policies is required. Insight
into who are the influential decision makers inside and outside of
government. Knowledge of U.S. foreign economic policies vis-a-vis Rwanda,
as well as internal economic reporting requirements and procedures is
required.
