description
This management role
coordinates implementation and delivery on the corporate programme and project
portfolio, ensuring a targeted and balanced impact on the strategic intent
through an effective prioritisation, planning, budgeting, implementation and
execution of strategic programs and projects, in close liaison with department
heads, project managers and
budget holders. The ideal candidate should be
proficient in programme and project management methodologies, including
competency with the related tools and have strong interpesonal and
communication skills. The position reports to the Head of Strategy and is
tenable in Gaborone.
Requirements
- Degree
in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent - Professional
Project management certification - Minimum
of 6 years of relevant working experience; 2 of which should have been at
management level - Demonstrated
success in project planning, financial management, program management,
report writing, and identifying and procuring technical assistance - A solid
team player who is accountabl and pursues excellence in executing all
duties - Have
integrity and customer orientation - Poses
leadership skills and have initiative - Strong
business acumen - A
results focused individual with a strategic orientation
Key
Resposibilities
- Daily
programme management throughout the programme lifecycle - Defining
the programme governance structures (controls) - Planning
the overall programme and monitoring the progress - Ensuring
prudent management of the programme’s budget - Managing
risks and issues and taking corrective measurements - Coordinating
the projects across the business and their interdependencies - Managing
and effective utilization of resources across projects - Managing
stakeholders’ communication - Managing
the main programme documentations such as the Programme Initiation
Document - Develop
a comprehensive programme/project management system to support coordinated
delivery of the Bank’s programmes and projects - Build
programme and project management capacity within the Bank for effective
coordination and implementation of the Bank’s programme and projects - Aligning
the deliverables (outputs) to the programme’s “outcome” - Setting
quality control standards and tracking implementation - Strategic
overview and reporting on all programmes to senior management - In-house
consultancy to projects and programmes - Providing
training to projects and programmes management teams - Auditing
and health checks on projects and programmes
