Job description
The Role
To lead and manage Country Programmes in times of
gaps. The post holder will be expected to manage all aspects of programming
from short term crisis management, to developing & implementing long-term
strategic programme plans to emergency programme design and implementation of
high-level policy and representation work. This needs to be done in the context
of a changing Oxfam. The post holder will also be expected to cover key vacant
posts other than that of Country Director such as Programme Manager for key
programmes across the region.

About the MECIS Region
The Middle East and Commonwealth of Independent States
(MECIS) region implements and manages programmes in Yemen, Occupied Palestinian
Territories, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Russia, Tajikistan, Armenia, and
Georgia.
Programmes within the MECIS region reflect Oxfam’s
approach to work across the globe. We support self-reliance, not dependency,
and to complement our work on the ground we strive to secure lasting change
through our campaigning.
We also put women at the heart of all we do. The
majority of people living in poverty are women and girls, and so this focus
helps us to achieve our mission to overcome poverty and suffering.

Contract Length: until 30th June 2017
