organization. To help manage this growth, we are looking for “Procurement
Associate”.
Job
Description

The Procurement Associate will be working on quality assurance, deliveries, and
some procurement of major inputs, such as maize seed and bean seed for Rwanda.
These items will reach over 100,000 farmers in Rwanda this year.
Responsibilities
will include:
  • Build
    and execute high level procurement systems to reduce waste and improve
    efficiency
  • Approve
    the order placement for necessary goods and services
  • Develop
    sourcing strategies aimed at working with high quality suppliers through
    market research, regular supplier assessment, and supplier relationship
    building
  • Collaborate
    across TUBURA teams to forecast major purchases, ensure requests are
    submitted on time, and maintain strong relationships with team leads for
    open communication
  • Anticipate
    potential challenges in sourcing and market analysis to reduce risk
  • Control
    spend and build long term culture of cost saving within procurement team
  • Perform
    risk management for suppliers and systems
  • Manage
    accurate data entry into SAP system and Google tracker
  • Follow
    up with suppliers and clients to ensure goods are delivered on time and at
    the right specifications
  • Create
    a positive work environment for procurement team to feel well supported
    and happy
  • Track
    payments and all team expenditure
  • Put
    in place a strong and easy to follow quality assurance process to ensure
    quality of all delivered goods
  • Plan
    and execute vendor tendering and pre-qualification process
  • Other
    activities as requested by your manager
Qualifications
We
seek exceptional professionals with a passion for understanding logistics,
supply chains and procurement. Experience in an entrepreneurial environment is
a plus.
  • Minimum
    3 years work experience in a demanding professional environment.
  • Experience
    in procurement/supply chain/logistics preferred, but not required. We are
    looking for a smart individual that can learn quickly.
  • Creativity
    and strong problem solving skills. You don’t take no for an answer and
    constantly look for alternative solutions to problems.
  • Experience
    working with multinational companies preferred.
  • Ability
    to work independently and make decisions.
  • Strong
    oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong
    work ethic and ability to handle a demanding, high pressure environment
  • Ability
    to think strategically to solve challenging problems and requests
  • Excellent
    organizational, customer service, and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong
    sense of ethics, honesty and integrity
  • Strong
    sense of accountability and responsibility
  • Strong
    quantitative thinking skills
  • Top-performing
    academic background.
  • Bachelor’s
    degree required.
  • Language:
    English and French required and Swahili nice to have
